Union Services at Court House
COURT HOUSE COULD NOT HOLD ALL WHO WANTED TO ATTEND THE MEETING
The Pastors Association union meeting, which was held in the court house Sunday night, called for a bigger crowd than the spacious auditorium could accommodate, and many people were turned away.
Rev. Mathison of the Methodist church, was master of ceremonies and called the meeting to order. The invocation was pronounced by Rev. Paris, after a number of songs led by Urban Cox had been sung. Rev. Fuller of the Baptist church, led the devotional and after a short prayer, he asked the congregation to sing, "On Jordan's Stormy Banks."
After a talk by Rev. Foster of the Church of Christ on "Good Citizenship," the Church of Christ quartette rendered a beautiful number. Rev. Mattingly of the Presbyterian church made a talk on the same subject as Rev. Foster. His talk was followed by a rendition by the Baptist church quartette. John A. Cook made a short address on "Whatsoever ye sow that shall ye also reap."
The principal address was made by District Judge R. T. Wilkinson of Mt. Vernon, which was an inspiration to all who heard it. The program was closed with a selection by the Methodist quartette, after which the meeting was dismissed with a prayer by Rev. Foster.

Go To Church Movement On
ALL CHURCHES OF CITY WILL WORK TO INCREASE ATTENDANCE
A movement has been inaugurated by the four churches of the city to increase the attendance at church services during the month of February, and this movement will begin Sunday.
Every member of each church is asked by the pastor to assist in this movement and try to bring someone with them to the Sunday services. There is a large seating capacity for the four churches of Mt. Pleasant, much of which is vacant at practically every service, and it is the purpose of the movement to remedy this situation.
Interesting services are held by each religious denomination twice each Sunday and once on Wednesday nights, and the preachers feel that if those who are not now in the habits of attending church services will make it a point to attend during the month of February, they will form the habit of going to church more regularly and be benefited thereby.
