The Titus County Historical Commission
The Titus County Historical Commission (TCHC) is an arm of Titus County government that is sanctioned by the Texas Historic Commission for the purpose of preserving and cataloging historical artifacts, documents, and structures within Titus County for future generations.
The TCHC also works to preserve the county's cemeteries and to assist eligible local cemeteries in obtaining a Historic Texas Cemetery designation or Historical Marker for their cemetery.
Anyone with an interest in Titus County History can join the TCHC, but members must be approved by the County Judge and Titus County Commissioner's Court. Members names must be submitted to the Texas Historic Commission, which can be done only in odd-numbered years. However, the Titus County Historic Commission can add members at any time and there is no limit to the number of members the Commission can have.
