"Pavilion, Dellwood Park, Mt. Pleasant, Texas"  PC-0040 / PC-0041

The photographer's name is not shown on this card.  It is another shot of one of the springs in the foreground and the Pavilion in the background..

The card was mailed July 5, 1911 from Bearden, Tennessee to Miss Cora Allen, So. Pittsburg, Tenn.  The message reads:

"Bearden, Tenn.  July 5, 1911
Dear Cora,  Please send me that white suit, also a pair of slippers.  Those shoes is hurting my feet.  This leaves aunt Ann alright send me a 50 cent stamp book.   Lovingly, Annie D."

The Dellwood Park Series - Page 1
"Red Mineral Springs, Dellwood Park, Mt. Pleasant, Texas"  PC-0028

The photographer's name is not shown on this card, but due to his other work and the estimated age of the card we suspect the photo was by W. B. Praytor.  This card is a lithographed photo of the red mineral springs that were once visible in Dellwood Park.  One of the spirngs is in the small well house in the photo foreground.   The large two story building behind the spring is the pavillion, which once contained a bowling alley, meeting rooms, and a ballroom.  The card was likely printed around 1908-1910 and was never mailed.

"The Dellwood at Red Mineral Springs, Mt. Pleasant, Texas"  PC-0032/PC-0033

This card featuring a tinted drawing of the Dellwood Hotel was mailed on October 6, 1909 to James O. C. Hovey in Iredell, Texas.  The note was written in light pencil, which has since faded.  We were unable to read it, even after altering the scan's brightness and contrast.

"Dellwood Hotel Entrance, Mt. Pleasant, Texas"  PC-0024

The photographer's name is not shown on this card, but due to his other work and the estimated age of the card we suspect the photo was by W. B. Praytor.  This card is an actual photograph of the entrance to the Dellwood Hotel that once stood where the public swimming pool now sits at the crest of the hill in Dellwood Park.  The card was likely printed around 1908-1910 and was never mailed.

"Red Springs Bath House & Pavillion, Dellwood Park, from Hotel Site, Mt. Pleasant, Tex"  PC-0042 / PC-0043

This card is an actual photograph which is almost identical to the one above it.  The photographer's name is not shown on the card, but "Pub. for Davis's Racket" is printed below the title.  Due to his other work and the estimated age of the card we suspect the photo was by W. B. Praytor.  One of the springs is in the small well house in the photo foreground.   The large two story building behind the spring is the pavillion, which once contained a bowling alley, meeting rooms, and a ballroom.  The building to the left of the Pavillion must be the bath house.

The card is postmarked April 6, 1909 and mailed to Miss Birdie Ponder, Mt. Pleasant, Texas.  The message reads "Sunday Eve.  Hello! Birdie.  How are you?  I am a little bit lonesome myself.  How was the party last night?  Well be good and go to school tomorrow.  Yours, WF"
