The Dellwood Park Series - Page 2
"Looking West from Hotel Site, Red Springs, Mt. Pleasant, Texas"  PC-0026

The photographer's name is not shown on this card, but we again suspect it was W. B. Praytor.  This card is a lithographed black and white photo.  The card was never mailed, so we don't have a postmark to date it, but it was likely printed around 1908-1910.

"Cafe Dellwood Park, Mt. Pleasant, Texas"  PC-0018

The photographer's name is not shown on this card, but due to his other work and the estimated age of the card we suspect the photo was by W. B. Praytor.  This card is a lithographed photo of the cafe and some of the other buildings that were once located in Dellwood Park.  The card was likely printed around 1908-1910 and was never mailed.

"Dellwood Park, Mt. Pleasant, Texas"  PC-0034 / PC-0035

There is no information about this card printed on it.  The front of the card is a press-printed lithograph.

The card was mailed August 28, 1911 to Miss Cora Allan, So. Pittsburg, Tenn.   The message reads:

"Bearden, Tennessee
August 26, 1911

Cora, Please send Annie what I told you.  Please send them by mail.  Kemp sent me a picture of myself and baby Deakins.  Address me Bearden in care of Moone.   Lovingly, Aunt Anne."

"Lake Scene in Dellwood Park, Red Springs, Mt. Pleasant, Texas"  PC-0038

This lithographed photograph shows the lake in Dellwood Park that once ran from present day Danny Drive across the present-day Little League ball fields.  This photo was taken shortly after the lake was constructed, as is shown by the raw earth dam with sharply graded edges.  The Bath House/Changing Rooms are hard to see, but are located at the far end of the lake.  The card was likely printed around 1908 and was never mailed.

"Lake and Bath House, Dellwood Park, Mt. Pleasant, Texas"
PC-0036 / PC-0037

This card shows a picture of the lake in Dellwood Park with people in boats and along the bank enjoying themselves.  The photographer's name is not shown on this card.  It is a lithographed photo.  The card was mailed September 12, 1908 to Mr. J. H. Keeney, Schell City,  Mo.  The message reads:

"Sep. 12 - 08
Dear Uncle Doc,

After so long a time I will ans your postal. We are all well and hope this will find you all the same.  Tell Winnie to write me a letter and soon.

Your loving niece,
Ada D."

The front of the card reads "I wish you were down here.  I would take you in bathing.  Ha Ha."
