Robert & Mary Turner's A Glimpse of Titus County, Texas History
Somewhat like the popular website "My Space", you could call this site "Our Space" because it is built from photos that local residents submitted for us to copy and display to share with others who are interested in seeing what Titus County was like in bygone days.  Through photos on this site, people everywhere can obtain a glimpse into the past history of Mount Pleasant, Titus County, and the surrounding area.  We thank those who shared their photos, news articles, and advertising with us and want to encourage you to do so if you have items that might interest others in the community.

This website will eventually provide an in-depth history of the county, and will be a combination of county history/scrapbook to be shared with anyone who's interested.  We want to provide content that our visitors are interested in.  If you have early Titus County photos, news articles, or advertising, please share them with us.  If you don't have these items, but would like to see items in categories that we don't list, please e-mail us so we can add your request to the "wish list" for consideration and can be on the look-out for things in that category.

We hope that subjects and items presented on our website will create a general interest in Titus County's history, and even more important, will create local interest in preserving the county's history before it slips away forever.

The Titus County, Texas History Website is privately owned and funded and is not associated with any organized group, governmental entity, or other organization.

In addition, you can e-mail us for Titus County burial information.  Burial information is not posted on the website due to the time required to post and maintain it.  We work from an interactive database containing information on over 26,775 burials.  We have over 18,000 grave marker photos and over 8,400 obituaries in file, too.  We'll be glad to research any Titus County burial (marked graves only) for you at no charge and e-mail you the results..
This mural was painted on the south wall of Titus County Title Company, 103 N. Madison Street, Mt. Pleasant.   The Titus County Title building, on the west side of the court house square, was home to Rodgers Hardware Store for many years.  The Mt. Pleasant Rotary Club commissioned David Freeman to paint the beautiful mural.
