The Mt. Pleasant Public Library Historical Display
The Mt. Pleasant Public Library is located at 213 North Madison Street, Mount Pleasant, Texas in a historic building originally constructed in 1923 for the U.S. Post Office. A local history display is located in the Genealogy and History Department in the library basement. The display includes early Titus County artifacts, the G.C. Garrett bottle collection, a spinning wheel, early county newspapers, and the Cross collection of Native American artifacts found in this area.
The museum is open during regular Library hours:
Monday-Friday
9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
Saturday
9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

The Mt. Pleasant Public Library staff is very knowlegable and pleasant and are pleased to show and explain their displays and to provide information about the Mt. Pleasant area.
Early Mt. Pleasant newspapers from 1923 to 1968 are available for viewing on microfilm, and paper copies from 1990-present are available.
The staff will also help people who are interested in researching their family's genealogy to locate any information that the Library has, and other resources that may be available, to help in your research.
There is no admission fee.
